TIBURON HOUSE

TIBURON, CA

DETAILS+

Starting with a prototypical 1960s residence with low ceilings and small, dark rooms, this project consisted of the complete renovation and reorgination of this 3,279 sf residence with world class views.

Suffused with clean and quiet materials, this project sought to provide a calm and peaceful respite for a busy Bay Area family of four. The house plan was reworked to create larger, more interconnected spaces, tied together with a central stair featuring a dramatic vertical window. New, larger windows were strageically placed throughthout, and custom millwork was added to create additional storage.

At the main living spaces, the ceilings were removed and the existing framing was exposed to create light-filled spaces with a simple, Scandinavian aethetic. A large, open kitchen was created, centered around the family dining table and configured symmetrically to frame the views of the hills and bay beyond.
