VINCE - NY

NEW YORK, NY

DETAILS +

This was the third retail location for the luxury clothing brand, Vince, and their first retail store in New York City. Completed in 2008, this project, located at the corner of Washington Street and Little West 12th Street in New York's Meat Packing District, lies literally in the shadow of the elevated rail that is now the High Line.

Drawing inspiration from the grittiness of this vibrant location, this retail build-out exposed the existing brick walls, mechanical ducting and concrete floors, then offest this with clean, white, backlit panels that serves as the backdrop for their merchandising. Scattered throughout and above are a series of linear bars of custom, walnut millwork which serve as storage, check-out desk, display and strategically placed soffit lighting. An industrial metal panel wall spans the rear of the store in a nod to the High Line.

Now with more than 48 retail locations, this project became the template for Vince's architectural branding.
