SCANDIA WAY

EAGLE ROCK, CA

DETAILS +

This speculative development, aimed at young Los Angeles professionals, consists of four modern, single family residences. Spread across the crest of a hill with commanding views of the Los Angeles Basin and the San Gabriel Mountains beyond, the designs center around maximizing views through the use of oversized windows, frameless corner glazing and pocket sliding glass doors.

The site itself forms a snaking S-shape in plan, making for odd, wedge-shaped lots. Each house was conceived of as two basic rectangles which angle into each other based on the lot shape. This allowed the builders to maximize efficiency through the use of repeating modules, while and at the same time creating homes that look distictly unique from one another.
